Are You Scared Your Plantar Fasciitis Is Never Going To Go Away?

The sharp shooting pain in your heel may seem like it’s never going to go away, but I promise you there is hope! Perhaps you have been struggling with it for years and tried everything from inserts to chiropractors to cortisone shots only for the pain to return.

I remember digging my heel into the Foot Rubz Massage Ball. It hurt so good. I couldn’t stop because it would temporarily take away the pain and I felt like it was breaking up the tissue. The relief was only temporary however and I always ended up back where I started.

While the ball was helping, this alone did not help me get rid of plantar fasciitis. Time, deep stretching, massage, activating the right muscles and some inner work was what it finally took to kick the foot pain to the curb.

People with plantar fasciitis typically have intense tightness going on in the body. There is deep muscular gripping happening and you may not even be aware of it.

How do we get this way?

The tightening and gripping has likely been happening for quite some time. It can be the result of high activity levels without enough time stretching. The cause could also be fear deeply embedded in the muscle tissue and this could have started all the way back to infancy.

Fear and stress causes the body to tense up. When we feel scared it creates a fight or flight response in the body and the hamstrings, back and feet tighten. Eventually, the muscles become bound and it takes time and patience to release. It can take a year or more to work through bound muscles.

With the right flexibility training and breathing practices we can release fear from the body. As fear dissolves so too does plantar fasciitis.

Don’t let plantar fasciitis scare you anymore. The healing journey takes time, but if you step in and take a proactive role I promise your feet will start to feel better.

Happy Halloween!
